This popular vacation destination in Hungary is situated in the Transdanubian Mountains. Its highest peak is the Pilis with 756 meters. The Pilis Mountains used to be a famous hunting ground for Hungarian Kings. Many hunting lodges have survived. Favorite places include the villages and hills between Pilis Mountains and Visegrad Hills, especially Pilisszentkereszt. Here, a road leads to Dobogókő (699 m above sea level), where one can admire an outstanding panoramic view on the Danube Bend. Dobogókő is also a climatic health place, hiking and ski resort, with one of the most beautiful panoramic views in Hungary.

Gerecse is a mountain range in north-western Hungary, in the Central Transdanubian region, between the ranges Vértes and Pilis and part of the Komárom-Esztergom County. The Gerecse Mountains are part of the Transdanubian Mountains. The highest point is Nagy-Gerecse at 634 m. The area is 70% forest, 5% scrubland, 10% grassland, and 15% artificial landscapes.
The Sopron Mountains is a mountain range, the eastward extension of the Eastern Alps. It is part of the Alpokalja area of Hungary and also of the Burgenland. It is located close to the city of Sopron (Western Hungary). Its highest point is the Brentenriegel with 606 metres.
